About Playbook Studios
Our story
Playbook Studios is a UK sports design studio founded in 2013 by Dave Williams, a graphic designer with a Masters degree and over a decade spent working exclusively in professional sport.
Based in Liverpool, England, we specialise in social media template systems for clubs, leagues, broadcasters, and sporting organisations. We've built design systems for some of the biggest names in the game: TNT Sports, Liverpool FC, Eurosport, the Women's Super League, England Cricket, Cricket Australia, Saracens, Portsmouth FC, Soccer Aid for UNICEF, and the Paris 2024 Olympics, among many others.
OUR WORK
Our work sits at the intersection of brand identity and content production. We don't just make things look good; we build systems that give content teams the speed, consistency, and confidence to produce professional graphics every day, without needing a designer in the room.
Every project is led directly by Dave. No account managers, no handoffs, no junior designers finding their feet on your brief. You get a specialist who has spent years inside the social media operations of top-tier sport, understands the pressures of matchday content, and knows what makes a graphic system actually work in production.
