What is Playbook Studios?

Playbook Studios is a UK sports design studio specialising in social media template systems for clubs, leagues, broadcasters and sport businesses. We have been operating since 2013 and are based in Liverpool, England. The studio is led by founder Dave Williams, who holds a Masters in Graphic Design and has spent close to two decades in the design industry, the last ten focused exclusively on professional sport.

Recent and ongoing work includes TNT Sports, Eurosport, BBC Sport, Liverpool FC, Manchester City, Rangers FC, Portsmouth FC, Saracens, St Helens, Warrington Wolves, the Women's Super League, England Lionesses, England Cricket, Cricket Australia, Soccer Aid for UNICEF, Olympic Games Paris 2024 and the Winter Olympics 2026.

What are sports social media templates?

Our social media templates are pre-designed graphics you can edit and use to create your own content quickly and easily. At Playbook Studios, we design templates specifically for sports teams and organisations, making it easy to share matchday updates, announcements, results, and more while keeping your branding consistent.

What software do I need to edit your templates?

Most clients receive editable PSD files for use in Adobe Photoshop, which gives content teams the most flexibility and the cleanest production workflow. If your team doesn't use Photoshop, we can supply templates as Adobe Express files instead. Adobe Express runs in a browser, is free to use, and needs no design experience. If you use a third-party platform like Azzuu or Stats Perform, we can design your templates and supply them on your behalf.

What platforms and sizes are templates supplied in?

Every system includes the four standard sizes as a default: 4x5, 1x1, 9x16 and 16x9. These cover Instagram feed, Instagram Stories, TikTok, X (Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube. We can add custom sizes for in-stadium screens, web banners, or any other format your team needs.

Do you also offer bespoke sports graphics?

We do. In addition to editable templates, Playbook Studios offers bespoke sports graphics and campaigns, designed from scratch to suit your specific goals. This includes matchday graphics, event visuals, seasonal campaigns, and more.

Do you provide creative strategy or branding help?

Yes. At Playbook Studios, we help clients discover their story and express it creatively. We offer workshops, consultancy, and advice to help you define your sports brand identity and embed it into your fan culture and communications.

Are revisions included?

Yes. Three rounds of revisions are included as standard on every project. Most projects don't need all three.

Do you provide ongoing support?

Yes. We are on hand for the life of your templates. If your team needs a new size, an additional layout, or just a question answered, get in touch. We can also offer screen recordings on request if you’d like to see exactly how to use the templates.

How much do your sports design services cost?

Pricing depends on the scope of your project. We offer cost-effective starter packs for smaller clubs as well as fully bespoke campaigns for larger organisations. Contact us to discuss your requirements and we’ll prepare a tailored quote.

How quickly can you deliver?

Our turnaround time varies by project. Sports social media template packs can often be delivered within 1–2 weeks, while larger campaigns or creative strategy work may take longer. We’ll always agree timelines with you before starting.
